Mobility in Greece

The following activities were undertaken during this mobility:

·       Visiting the classes of 1st primary school of special needs in Corfu – exhibition of methods implementing in school – exhibition of software and equipment specially designed for students with special needs

·       Exhibition of the countries` local products -  tasting every country`s local products with our students

·       Music sessions with the department of music -  Ionian university

·       Occupational therapy workshop (Polish and Greek students)

·       Playing basketball (Polish and Greek students)

·       Presentation of the countries and the representative schools

·       Visit to the Regional Education Directorate of Ionian Islands

·       Visit to the Education Directorate of Corfu`s  Primary Education

·       Visit to the Special Needs Education Advisor

·       Visit to the  Secondary Vocational Special Needs Education School of Corfu

·       Visit to “Melissa’ (Corfu parent`s association institution  for children with special needs)

·       Visit to Corfu Educational Diagnostic Center

·       Visit to Corfu Mayor

·       Planting vegetable seeds (Polish and Greek students)

·       Visit to the Special Needs Kindergarden of Corfu

·       Visit to 12th Elementary Comprehensive School of Corfu

·       Discussions about the project site, new uploads on the project site

WORK PROGRAM

·       On Monday   all the teams came to Corfu.

·       On Tuesday the participating teams visited the school where they had the chance to visit school`s classes, meeting with the teachers and the students. Following   that presentation of the countries` local products took place - tasting every country`s local products with our students and parents. Then each country presented its school and country. In the end of the presentations our school presented Teacch Method. A light meal offered by school`s staff when everything was concluded.

·       On Wednesday  we visited educational institutions and offices where the teams had the opportunity to understand the structure of both comprehensive and (especially) special needs educational settings. First we visited the Regional Education Directorate of Ionian Islands, then the Education Directorate of Corfu Primary Education and the Special Needs Education Advisor of  both Primary and Secondary Education. Following that we went to the Secondary Vocational Special Needs Education School of Corfu where the groups were divided in smaller teams  and a tour took place where the director and the staff of the school explained and showed the different vocational workshops and special equipment of the school. After that we visited  Corfu`s  Parent`s Association Institution  (“MELISSA”) for children with special needs where our group was gladly received by the personnel and  a tour on professional development of adults with special needs took place, including visit to the confectionary chain production and meeting with the students participating in this project. Then we visited Corfu Educational Diagnostic Center where the director and the special educational personnel explained to us the diagnostic process when a child is referred to the institution. This  day ended in the municipality of Corfu where we welcomed by deputy mayor Ms. Vlassis who kindly offered special edited books and old photos of  Corfu island to all as a memorative items. 

·       On Thursday  all groups came to our school where they had the opportunity to watch and participate in music sessions implemented in our school by Assistant Professor Ms. I. Etmektsoglou and students (Department of Music - Ionian University). Following that all groups had the opportunity for a tour in IT room and the presentation of special software and equipment designed for students with special needs. At the same time Polish students participated in a occupational therapy workshop where they designed and produced Corfu`s map together with Greek students and then they played basketball in school`s yard under the supervision of the Gym teacher.

·       On Friday  all groups visited the Special Kindergarten of Corfu where they had the chance to meet and exchange ideas with staff. Following that we visited 12^th Elementary School of Corfu where a tour on school`s activities and classes by the Director of the school took place. After that a meeting of coordinators took place in our school where issues on future project activities, uploads to the project site and finalisation of the dates for the trip to Romania were discussed and solved. In the end the certificate award ceremony took place.

·       On Saturday visit to Corfu was ended and all groups travelled back to their representative countries.

·       During the afternoons the team had to chance to visit museums and historical places, so as to come in contact with social and cultural aspects of life in Corfu Island.

Meeting in Corfu had a positive impact on the hosting school, the participating students and teachers, local community but also the project partners who took part in this mobility
